Grow a Garden Trading in 2026: Safe Trades, Tickets, and Smart Swaps

I have spent a lot of time in Grow a Garden, and in 2026 the trading system from the 1.17.0 Trading & Cooking update is still the feature I rely on most. With a Trading Ticket, both players see the offer, the total value, and the final confirmation before anything moves. That security matters whether I am swapping a rare pet or just topping up my Sheckles.

How I Get a Trading Ticket

The entry point is simple. I go to the Gear Shop and buy one Trading Ticket for 100,000 Sheckles. If I forget where that is, I look next to the Cosmetics and Crafting Stand. I can also use a Recall Wrench to teleport there quickly, which saves a lot of running when I am already deep in a garden.

Once I have the ticket, I equip it in my character’s hand. Then I face the avatar of the player I want to trade with and press the E button. If they accept, a trade window pops up for both of us. That window is the heart of the system.

The Trade Window, Step by Step

What I Can Trade—and What I Cannot

It is a small friction point, but it makes sense. The game is protecting both sides from an overflow that would break the trade.

Why I Still Use Trading in 2026

Gifting is still available, and for close friends it can feel faster. But for anything valuable, trading is the better choice. The Trading Ticket costs 100,000 Sheckles, which is not trivial, yet one ticket covers up to 12 items. When I compare that to the risk of a gift scam, the math favors trading every time. The 1.17.0 update may not have been the newest patch in 2026, but it solved a problem that had haunted Grow a Garden for too long.
